Civil Hospital,

The Principal Civil Medical Officer.

Hongkong, 30th, December, 1921.

Sir,

I regret to report that Mr. Percy Burn, Cadet Officer,

was brought to the Hospitel at 5 p.m. on the 28th instant, in the Motor Ambulance, accompanied by his Chinese boy.

The boy stated that he had bem ill with fever since Saturday 24th, except on Monday 26th when he appeared allright,

He had been seen a few hours before admission by Dr. Stuart Taylor,

who had ordered his immediate removal to Hospital.

I saw him on admission and found him in a semi-cometose

and collapsed condition.

While in Hospital he vomited altered blood several times and

passed a stool with blood in it.

I was with him from his admission and did all I could for him, but

his condition was hopeless and he died about two hours later.

In my opinion the cause of death was malignant malaria.

I immediately reported his death by telephone to the Colonial Secretary and to the Head of his Department.

I have the honour to be,

Sir,

Your obedient servant,

(Sd). William B.A. Moore,

Medical Officer in Cherge

Civil Hospital.

L.
